Stop 19 – Electric Park

The Niagara, St. Catharines and Toronto Railway (NS&T) was one of Canada’s first (and last) radial electric interurban railways and is often described as way ahead of its time. The electric railway began service in 1899 and ended in 1959. This railway made traveling from Port Dalhousie to Port Colborne easily accessible to people during a time when most didn’t have any other mode of transportation. The NS&T had a total of 75 miles of track, yards and its own car shop, making it one of the country’s largest systems.
